Twins and siblings: Tackling twice the tuition [Video]

Welcome to Smart TrackTM Minute, and welcome to Smart Track Minute!

Why did I just say that twice? Because today we’re talking about twins!

Putting one student through college is hard enough, financially. Two students, though, can be quite difficult.

However, with a plan in place, you can actually find plenty of ways to save money when you have two students heading into college.

For example, for each student you have in college your Expected Family Contribution, or EFC, will drop. As your EFC goes down, the amount of need-based aid you qualify for goes up.

Also, some colleges offer substantial discounts to families who send two students there, such as George Washington University. The Washington, D.C. college offers up to 50 percent discounts to whichever sibling enrolled later.

Families with twins or siblings within a few years of each other can save tens of thousands of dollars annually through these discounts!

If your students are set to attend college at the same time, it is crucial that you have a plan in place to ensure you reap the savings and benefits offered to families like yours. Speak with one of our Smart TrackTM college funding coaches to learn more about your options and opportunities.
